“I joined here because there is a good business ladies section and back then a lot of the other courses round here weren't quite so accommodating.” "The ladies section is not only very committed to golf but also exceptionally sociable and welcoming. What’s more we play on a beautiful course that despite having no bunkers, provides all sorts of other challenges."
“I joined Royal Liverlpool when I was a student up there and have maintained my membership. As an Open venue it’s a tough course and, in my experience, so is Berkhamsted. It’s probably one or two shots better than your handicap so when you go somewhere else you always feel that you’re going to play to your handicap or slightly better.”
“It’s a great club – good socially too, there are lots of friendly people you get to know over the years. Also, there’s a regular turnover of members so we get new ones joining, which is really healthy for the club.”
“I was 11 when I started,” recalls Malcolm and have been through all the stages of membership subsequently. Now I’m retired I can play all the time, which I do as much as possible."
“I play off 15 now and it creeps up every year, but I can’t think of a better place to play – that’s why I’ve been a member for so long. The course is excellent and its condition is the best that I can ever remember.”
“My dad got me started and once I began to improve I really got the bug.”
“It’s really good for youngsters here. I’ve had a lot of encouragement to keep playing and develop my game and there's lots of tournaments for Juniors to play in."
