Dress Requirements at Berkhamsted Golf Club

The Golf Course

Gentlemen

An appropriate standard of dress is required at all times. Any Logos or Motifs should be of a small and discreet nature. The following are items that are categorically not permitted:

- No - Denim Jeans and non tailored trousers of any description.
- No - Cargo Pants, i.e. Trousers with external side pockets.
- No - Track Suits
- No - Cropped Trousers
- No - Football Shirts
- No - T Shirts
- No - Shoes other than Golf Shoes
- No - Shorts other than Tailored Shorts
- No - Liner Socks
- No - Short socks other than those that are predominantly white

Ladies

As above except Ladies may wear Liner Socks and Cropped Trousers but:

- No - Ski Pants
- No - Leggings
- No - Sun Tops

The Clubhouse

All of the above restrictions apply equally to the clubhouse. Additionally in the Clubhouse lounges and dining areas:

- No - Golfing Hats
- No - Golfing Shoes
- No - Trainer Shoes
- Gentlemen must wear socks

Casual Lounge – Smart Casual at all times (includes appropriate golfing clothes)

Main Lounge – As for Casual Lounge until 1900hrs – thereafter, Formal Dress

Dining Room – As for Main Lounge although Formal or Casual Dress may be designated for certain occasions.

EXCEPTIONS: Thursday League, Free Draw Nights and Sunday Lunch – Smart Casual Dress is acceptable.

General Comments:

- Changing of Shoes in the Car Park is discouraged
- Shirt worn outside of trousers is discouraged
- Baseball Cap worn back to Front is discouraged
- Dirty, damp or soiled clothing should not be worn in the Clubhouse lounges and dining room
- Over-garments, bags, shoe-bags etc are not to be brought into the lounges dining areas or corridors and landings within the clubhouse

Mobile Phones - Please keep them with you on the Golf Course for EMERGENCY use only

- Do not use a mobile phone anywhere in the Clubhouse and ensure that audible ring tones are switched off.

While the Dress policy intends to make clear the requirements, not every circumstance can be catered for and responsibility for the interpretation, implementation and compliance of it rests with the General Manager and his delegated staff. Your Full Co-operation is required & appreciated.
